History of Bach Flower Essences:
Dr Edward Bach was a successful medical practitioner in the late 1900's. Dr Bach became disillusioned with the way in which conventional medicine focused on treating the illness, rather than the patient. Believing that in nature there were remedies available to help treat the ill. He went out into nature to do considerable research on plants. He soon identified thirty-eight plants, flowers and trees which he believed held significant healing properties.
How do they work?
Dr Bach focused on creating remedies that were intended to treat the personalities, feelings and emotions of his patients. He found that if he could help alleviate someone’s emotional distress, then this would unblock the body’s own ability to heal any physical distress or trauma.
The 7 Emotional Categories:
The thirty-eight flower remedies are categorised into seven different groups-
1. Fear
2. Loneliness

The specific combination of remedies will be chosen by the practitioner, depending on the client’s mental and emotional needs.

During the Consultation?
Melisa will encourage you to talk about the issues and problems which you are currently facing in life. She will help you to explore your deepest feelings, concerns and fears. Together you and Melisa will determine the underlying cause(s) of the problem(s), and she will then prepare your combination. Melisa will sometimes combine homeopathic treatment with flower essences depending on your needs. Melisa will either conduct the consultations in her North Austin practice facility or make home visits in Round Rock, Teravista, Georgetown or Cedar Park.
A combination is anything up to five flower essences, which will be put into a dropper bottle filled with water and then topped up with alcohol to preserve the contents. There are alternatives to use should you require a non-alcoholic preservative. You will usually be asked to take two drops of the remedy in a glass of water and sip throughout the day. Alternatively you may need to take 4 drops 4 times a day for one month.
